Lemon
Citrus limon
The half-peeled lemon, its rind spiralling over the table's edge, is the signature flourish of Dutch Golden Age painting - beautiful, sharp, and a quiet reminder that all pleasures sour.
The lemon helped win an empire: British sailors dosed with citrus beat back scurvy and earned the nickname 'limeys,' giving the Royal Navy a decisive edge at sea.
Goethe's longing for the warm south - "Do you know the land where the lemon trees bloom?" - made the lemon the very emblem of Italy for northern Europe.

Strawberry
Fragaria × ananassa
The modern strawberry is an accident - a Chilean and a North American species met in a French garden in the 1750s and never looked back. The English name may come from the straw once laid beneath the plants, or from the runners that 'strew' across the ground.
In medieval painting the strawberry stood for purity and righteousness, its three-part leaf a sign of the Trinity - hidden symbolism tucked into many a Renaissance altarpiece.
Strawberries and cream have been served at Wimbledon since 1877 - the taste of an English summer - while Revolutionary France's Madame Tallien is said to have bathed in their juice.

Questions, answered.

What are the signs made from? −

Matte, charcoal-grey acrylic, around 100 mm wide, with an integrated spike. Weatherproof and fade-proof - built to live outdoors in the bed year-round

Engraved or printed? +

Always engraved, never printed. The lettering is physically cut into the surface, so it won’t wash away, peel, or fade in sunlight the way a printed label does.

Can I write my own wording for a plant? +

Yes. Choose Custom Words on any plant and type exactly what you’d like engraved for that plant - grow notes, a family recipe, a memory, a date, whatever you want the garden to remember.

Can I create my own sign from scratch? +

Yes. Visit the Memories page, select any sign and type exactly what you’d like engraved - title, subtitle, and content up to 1000 characters for $9.95 AUD per sign.

Will my custom sign look exactly as I typed it? +

The content itself is engraved exactly as the wording appears at checkout, so please double-check every letter before you order. The layout is optimised by us so that single words aren't floating on their own and the content has enough breathing space.

How long does delivery take? +

We cut and ship within five business days of your order. We ship worldwide, with tracking on every order.

How much is delivery? +

Flat $10 anywhere in Australia and $18 anywhere else - the same whether you order one sign or twenty. Tracking on every order.

How should I care for it? +

None needed, really - an occasional wipe with a damp cloth keeps the engraving crisp. No sealing, oiling, or bringing it in for winter.
