We're a small garden sign business, not a data company. We collect what we need to make your sign and post it to you, and nothing else.
When you order, we keep:
If you buy a gift card, we also keep the recipient's name and email address, because you've asked us to send it to them. We email them once, with the gift. We don't add them to anything or contact them again.
We never see them. Payment happens on Stripe's own secure checkout page, and all we get back is confirmation that it worked.
Only the people needed to get your sign to you:
We don't sell your details, and we don't pass them to anyone else.
One small cookie remembers what's in your cart as you move between pages. Without it your cart would empty every time you clicked something. It disappears when you close your browser.
We also use advertising and measurement tools from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google and TikTok. These set their own cookies and tell us things like which pages people look at, and whether an ad led to a sale. We see totals and trends, not a list of who did what.
You can block them with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker. The shop works perfectly well without them.
We keep order records for as long as the tax office requires, which is five years. After that we don't need them.
Email orders@booshmark.com.au and ask. We'll tell you what we hold, correct anything that's wrong, or delete it — though we may have to keep the bare record of a sale for those five years.
The same address works if you're unhappy with how we've handled your details. If we can't sort it out between us, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
