Thyme
Thymus vulgaris
Thyme was the very breath of courage to the Greeks and Romans - soldiers bathed in it before battle, and medieval ladies stitched sprigs into the scarves of their knights.
Its name may descend from the Greek thymos, 'courage' or 'spirit'; to 'smell of thyme' was, in Athens, to be graceful and brave.
Long burned as temple incense and tucked among linen against moths, thyme was also laid with the dead in ancient Egypt - a herb of both the altar and the grave.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

What are the signs made from? −

Matte, charcoal-grey acrylic, around 100 mm wide, with an integrated spike. Weatherproof and fade-proof - built to live outdoors in the bed year-round

Engraved or printed? +

Always engraved, never printed. The lettering is physically cut into the surface, so it won’t wash away, peel, or fade in sunlight the way a printed label does.

Can I write my own wording for a plant? +

Yes. Choose Custom Words on any plant and type exactly what you’d like engraved for that plant - grow notes, a family recipe, a memory, a date, whatever you want the garden to remember.

Can I create my own sign from scratch? +

Yes. Visit the Memories page, select any sign and type exactly what you’d like engraved - title, subtitle, and content up to 1000 characters for $9.95 AUD per sign.

Will my custom sign look exactly as I typed it? +

The content itself is engraved exactly as the wording appears at checkout, so please double-check every letter before you order. The layout is optimised by us so that single words aren't floating on their own and the content has enough breathing space.

How long does delivery take? +

We cut and ship within five business days of your order. We ship worldwide, with tracking on every order.

How much is delivery? +

Flat $10 anywhere in Australia and $18 anywhere else - the same whether you order one sign or twenty. Tracking on every order.

How should I care for it? +

None needed, really - an occasional wipe with a damp cloth keeps the engraving crisp. No sealing, oiling, or bringing it in for winter.
